About LivingBread
Why this site exists, how we read Scripture and who is behind it.
»I am the living Bread which descends out of heaven.«
The idea
LivingBread started with a simple wish: to make God’s Word easy to read, study and share. Alone in a quiet moment, together in a home group, or on the way through a song. The name comes from John 6:51, where Jesus calls Himself the living Bread. Everything on this site is meant to lead back to Him and to His Word.
What you find here
Reading Plans
Reading plans guide you through all the key passages on one theme, day by day, so you can study it deeply on your own.
Home Groups
Home group guides help a group study a theme together, with Bible passages, explanations and questions for discussion.
Music
Songs set Bible verses to music, so God’s Word stays in your heart and mind during the day.
How we read Scripture
We use the Concordant Version as our default Bible text, because it translates each Greek and Hebrew word as consistently as possible. Our focus is the gospel of grace that God entrusted to the apostle Paul for the present time. We try to let Scripture explain Scripture and to stay as close to the text as we can.
Who is behind it
LivingBread is run by Eser Esen from Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The site is built and maintained in spare time, out of love for God’s Word and the wish to share what has become precious to us.
Free for everyone
All content on LivingBread is free. There are no ads and no paid areas. An account is only needed if you want to track your progress in reading plans or create your own home groups.
